Larkin Media Usage Policy

This policy is designed to provide guidance to all stakeholders of Larkin Jamboree ‘24 on the ownership, usage and collection of all photographic and video media content obtained during the event. Any concerns or questions regarding this policy should be sent to the Head of Communications in the first instance for review and escalation as appropriate. They can be contacted directly at media@larkinjamboree.org.uk

  • All Photographs and videos captured during Larkin Jamboree '24 by the designated Media Team and Youth Media Team in an official capacity will remain the intellectual property of the Larkin Jamboree.
  • By applying for and undertaking a role within the Media Team, the individual agrees for North Yorkshire Scouts and the Larkin Jamboree Event Team to utilise all media captured for official purposes including but not limited to social media posts, local and national press coverage, and future events, without the requirement to credit the individual directly.
  • During the event, individuals will have the opportunity to share photos taken in an unofficial capacity through the #Larkin24 tag or sending directly to a dedicated email address. By sending these, individuals agree to North Yorkshire Scouts and the Larkin Jamboree Event Team sharing these photos on social media or live during the event. North Yorkshire Scouts and the Larkin Jamboree Management accept no responsibility for any photos collected through unofficial media sources. All content is to be vetted prior to official sharing where appropriate.
  • All photos taken by the Media Team will be stored and managed through a Larkin Jamboree and North Yorkshire Scouts shared drive. This drive is to be periodically reviewed by Photography & Video Team to ensure all photos are appropriate for official media channels. All photos will be stored in accordance with GDPR.

  • Group leaders are to make the Media Team aware of anyone who explicitly does not have permission to feature in any media at the earliest opportunity. Due to the scale of the event, it will be assumed at the time of capture by photographers and videographers, that all young people and adults have permission for photographs and videos to be taken. There will be implied consent for adults at the event. All photographs and videos will then be reviewed for any individuals who can’t feature, and the content will be deleted.
